1.) Jalpaiguri To Darjeeling
The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway or Toy Train boasts of being India’s oldest mountain railway. Circular loops are a striking feature of this rail route that give a feeling of joy and thrill at the same time. The Batasia Loop is the most famous, it is known for its spectacular views of Mount Kanchenjunga and the city underneath. As the train ascends from Sukna, it passes through many small towns, traversing tea plantations, rich tea areas, and small forests of cherry, chestnut pear, and maple. 2.) Vasco de Gama To Londa
The beachfront of Goa is known for its beautiful beaches, tranquillity, dense jungles, lush green villages, and numerous waterfalls in the region that are magical attractions that fall on the Goan Rail. The train journey starts from Vasco Da Gama passing through pristine beaches and taking you to the rugged paths of the Western Ghats which offer a fascinating view of Dudhsagar Falls. This four-tiered waterfall is one of the highest waterfalls in the world. The best time to take this trip is after a monsoon when you can enjoy the bright red color of the clay soil.
3.) Kalka to Shimla
If you want to appreciate the beautiful valleys, steep paths, and foggy meadows, travel to Shimla on a narrow-gauge train. The country’s only mountain railway that is still being used, the Kalka and Shimla railway line gets its name in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the precipitous altitude rise in the distance of 96 km. Surrounded by high altitude Shivalik ranges on each side, this railway track was established in 1903 and crosses 864 bridges and 107 tunnels. The scenic view of the road makes you love the fresh air, the map, the oak, and the pine trees. It is really a lifetime ride.

4.) Jodhpur to Jaisalmer
The trek to the Thar desert, from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer, fights the myth that deserts are just barren land. The traveller is greeted with a glimpse of the endless desert, dotted by the colourful traditional mud huts. And of course, you can’t miss the camels grazing around the vast desert. 5.) Mandapam to Rameswaram
This train route is one of the best and most dangerous routes in India because it runs on Pamban Bridge which is a very narrow yet the second-longest bridge in India. The view from above, as the train crosses the Gulf of Mannar, will leave you in awe. The route connects Mandapam to Tamil Nadu on the island of Rameswaram and you will immediately fall in love with the views on offer.

6.)Karjat to Lonavala
From the Karjat of Maharashtra, as the train passes through this area, it enters the area of the high Western Ghats known for their diversity. It is very alluring and is one of the best train routes in India known for its Mystic Nature. This journey is recommended for the monsoon season as this route becomes more spectacular with a cascading waterfall and numerous clear streams. The thick green vegetation with hilly ridges on the back creates a lovely spot from your train’s window. Before the trek up the Monkey Mountains, the train crosses the village of Thakurwadi, passes through the dreamy Khandala, and finally reaches Lonavala, leaving an immaculate spot on your mind.
7.)Mumbai to Goa
People always talk about these two places! One, due to its glamorous and busy lives and two, for the holiday mood that grabs hold of you! This route connects you to both of these special places and offers a phenomenal experience running between the Sahyadri hills on one side and the Arabian Sea on the other.
